IGP urges Police Service to uphold professionalism and fairness

The Inspector General of Police (IGP), George Akuffo Dampare, has issued a stirring call to members of the Ghana Police Service, urging them to exhibit professionalism, fairness, and dedication in their election duties as Ghanaians head to the polls today, 7th December 2024.


In an official message to his colleagues, the IGP commended the officers for their relentless commitment to ensuring a peaceful electoral process. He underscored the significance of their role in safeguarding the country’s democracy, emphasizing the collective responsibility to secure the future for generations to come.

“By our nationality, we are brothers and sisters, and therefore we mean well for our beloved country because of our children and grandchildren who are the future generations,” Dampare stated.

The IGP appealed to officers to carry out their duties fairly and firmly, upholding the trust between Ghanaians and the international community.

“The eyes of the world are on us, and Ghanaians look up to us to sustain the peace and security of the country, and we should not fail them,” he noted.

The IGP also reassured the officers of unwavering support from the leadership of the Police Service, affirming, “Always remember that we have your back.”
