Ignore false reports about coronavirus cure in the Bible - Pastor

Reverend Blessing Mensah Reverend Blessing Mensah

Reverend Blessing Mensah, District Pastor of the Kaneshie District Assemblies of God, Greater Accra West has debunked the myth that is busting on social media that “there is a miraculous hair in every bible that could cure coronavirus”.

According to him, coronavirus is still raging all over the world and scientists are desperately in search for a vaccine that would effectively cure the disease.

“Bible admonishes us to guard our faith with jealous care, hence we must not rush into following anything thrown at us which would rather have complications on us,” he explained.

Rev. Blessing, who also doubles as the Head Pastor of the New Covenant Assemblies of God asked Ghanaians to disregard the viral news that says every single bible has a hair somewhere in it which is not in any specific verse or chapter.

According to the myth on social media, God made a revelation to a 5-year old girl from the Central Region of Ghana on March 25, 2020 which was declared as a National prayer and fasting day to beseech God for his mercies to fight the pandemic.

The instructions from the 5-year old girl was to put the hair in water and use the bible verse from where the hair was found in the bible as a prayer point and drink the water afterwards.

The District Pastor indicated that, this was more than a myth, and it was to shift people’s faith in God’s word to observing what some spiritual person will say.

He observed that, many revere the Bible, and would will accept the message readily and many today will follow directions of people.

According to him, it is not written in any verse to adhere to such prophesies.

The act he explained, would rather shift people’s faith from God’s Word to dreams and directions of men, and this dilutes faith.

He advised Ghanaians to follow what the medical experts has asked us to do, which includes washing of hands, keeping social distances, avoiding handshakes among other precautionary measures.

Rev. Mensah explained that, in containing the pandemic, it needs a multi-sectorial approach in combating the pandemic where every profession need to play their roles to eradicate COVID-19.

He advised Ghanaians to have total reliance on God and His word by maintaining prayers for mercy and protection.

The District Pastor admonished the church to keep on praying to God for normalization because the pandemic is a ploy of Satan to dominate the world and its systems.

“The ministers must give themselves to reading the Bible to enable them know how to interpret current happenings and teach members to be abreast with happenings,” he underscored.

Rev. Mensah believes COVID-19 is both a science and spiritual affair because, scientists created it and spiritualists are using it to create a new order in the world.

“Cunningly scientific instructions have been used to stop a spiritual activity like congregating to pray and praise God”, he cited.

Rev. Blessing was optimistic that, COVID-19 would soon be a thing of the past by God’s grace.
