Improve Mfansteman TV reception - ICT Service providers urged

Mankessim, Apr. 19, GNA - Information and Communication Technology (ICT) service providers have been urged to device means of improving television reception without the use of bamboo poles to mount antennas. Mr John Mensah, a trader who made the call said the mounting of external antennas on long poles destroyed the beauty of the skyline of communities.

He made the call at a forum organised by Mr Stephen Asamoah Boateng, MP for Mfantseman West, at Mankessim on Monday to explain government's policies and programmes and some issues that were discussed in parliament.

Mr Asamoah Boateng who is also a Deputy Minister of Tourism and Modernisation of the Capital City, explained the Representation of the Peoples' Amendment Act (ROPAC), the Petroleum Tax, human resource and private sector development, micro-credit interventions and inflation to the people.

A contributor appealed to Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies to enforce by-laws on sanitation to keep communities neat An appeal was also made to the Police Administration to post more personnel to the area to combat crime.

Mr Robert Quainoo-Arthur, District Chief Executive (DCE) for Mfantseman, said the Assembly was compiling data on skilled labour in the District to facilitate employment. The DCE appealed to members of the Assembly to take sanitation seriously since offenders would be dealt with ruthlessly. The MP held similar forums at Saltpond and Anomabo.
