The spokesperson for the John Dramani Mahama campaign, Joyce Bawa Mogtari, has questioned the swift shift from bread-and-butter issues to infrastructure in the lead-up to the 2024 election.
According to her, in 2016, the New Patriotic Party, led by Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, told the people of Ghana to look deep into their pockets and vote wisely.
However, in 2024, she alleges that the government has paid influencers to promote infrastructure, including roads, among others.
Joyce Bawa Mogtari is shocked that effort is being put into the promotion of infrastructure by the current government.
“We don’t eat roads, we didn’t eat roads in 2016. Weirdly enough, in 2024, they are paying and cajoling key influencers to promote roads as part of their propaganda for reelection. What happened, what changed? But please permit me to ask @NAkufoAddo and #Bawuliar if we are going to eat roads now because the NPP is in government. #GhanaDeservesBetter”
