Anyinasuso (Ash), July 28, GNA - Mr Kwame Owusu-Frimpong, incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) for Ahafo-Ano North was re-elected at the New Patriotic Party (NPP) primaries held at Anyinasuso, near Tepa on Wednesday.
He polled 62 out of the 93 votes cast to beat three other contestants in an election supervised by the Electoral Commission. The three, Mr Yaw Appiahene-Agyei, a Communication Engineer; Dr Henry Asumadu, an Agricultural Scientist and Mr Benjamin Bio-Agyemang, District National Disaster Management Organisation Coordinator, got 24, five and two votes, in that order.
Mr Owusu-Frimpong thanked the delegates for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to unite all members and supporters of the Party in the Constituency.
Mr Osei-Assibey Antwi, Ashanti Regional First Vice-Chairman of the NPP, commended the delegates for the peaceful manner they conducted themselves during the elections and urged them to ensure victory in Election 2004.
Mr Akwasi Adu-Poku, the District Chief Executive, appealed to the contestants, who lost to pool their resources, unite and support the Party to win both the Parliamentary and Presidential elections.
