Tamale, Sept. 1, GNA - Mr Abdallah Otito Achuliwor, an independent parliamentary candidate for Navrongo Central Constituency, has started a tour of communities in the constituency to formally announce his candidature to the electorate. Speaking to the GNA after touring four communities at the weekend, Mr Achuliwor said all the places he went there was massive support that indicated that he would win the Navrongo Central seat.
He said he was prepared to sacrifice his life for the interest of Navrongo just as his brother, the late Mr John Setuni Achuliwor, sought development for the Constituency.
The communities he visited included Jaanania, Kuwagnia, Nayagnia and Pungu, where he told the people to turn away from politics of deception but should study manifestoes before voting.
He claimed that the people of Navrongo made a wrong choice in voting for somebody to represent them after the death of his brother. "I am the only person who can fill the vacuum my brother created in Navrongo." Mr Achuliwor said his utmost priority when voted to parliament would be health and education.
He said there was the need for parliamentarians to assess the needs of communities so that development projects would not be misplaced, citing Kuwagnia where electricity had been provided instead of constructing a link road to Navrongo.
Mr Achuliwor said he would use his influence when voted to power to revamp the Tono Irrigation Project.
