Infrastructural Development project for Kpone and Ashaiman

Kpone, Jan 25, GNA - The Tema Municipal Assembly (TMA) has cut a sod for work to start on an urban infrastructure upgrading project in Kpone and Ashaiman.

The over two million Ghana cedis project funded by the World Bank involved the construction of roads, drainages and the installation of streetlights in the two towns.

Mr David Quaye Annang, Tema Municipal Chief Executive who cut the sod, said the project would provide Kpone with 3.6 km road network, 4.2 km drainage network and 50 streetlights. Ashaiman would have 3.3 km road network, 3.9 km drainage network and 50 streetlights.

He said the second phase of the project would also see to the relocation of the Kpone landfill site at a cost of $9.5 million. Mr Alex Oboubi, Project Consultant, said to prevent disasters such as flooding, proper town planning was needed at Kpone and Ashaiman.
