Institute of Advanced Leadership Training holds graduation

The Institute of Advanced Leadership Training and Human Development, has held its maiden graduation ceremony for 11 students who obtained certificates in Organisational Leadership in Accra at the weekend.

The institute established in 2012 as an educational and leadership think tank offers consultancy, advocacy, research and non-tertiary certificates to perspective members.

Mr Ernest Aseidu Odei, Principal of the Institute, said the course aimed at assisting professionals who have the desire to maximise their capacities in all endeavours.

The Institute also trains transformational and servant leaders who would exemplify responsible leadership, upholding the basic and advanced tenets of cultural, national and religious ethics and values.

Mr Odei said the Ghanaian educational system has a higher probability of failing and this unpleasant situation could be changed only if an in-depth understanding is gained from the past, present and the future.

He said the Institute has forged partnership with Hope International University based in the United State to award certificates to the students.

Dr Joseph Grana, Dean of Hope International University, whose message was read on his behalf, encouraged the graduates to take what they have learnt seriously to have an impact on the society.

He said completion of a Certificate in Organisational Leadership would better prepare them to meet the needs of a changing turbulent world, which desperately needs their inputs.

“You are in the tradition of those who value education, Christian education for that matter,” he added.

Dr Henry Kwame Afaglo, Director of Programmes at the Institute, said leadership is an important and evolving skill that every community requires for growth. He said the Institute has introduced Guidance and Counseling as a new course this year and asked people to enroll to pursue it.

Dr Afaglo called for the development and introduction of entrepreneurship skill in schools to shape the thinking of students before they leave campus.
