Intensify campaign for total victory - NPP Candidate

Accra, Nov. 30, GNA - Mr Samuel Owusu-Agyei, New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for Effutu Constituency, on Tuesday called for the intensification of the Party's campaign for total victory.

"It is time for the Party to intensify its campaign strategies and focus attention against diversionary tactics within and without, complacency and internal antagonism," Mr Owusu-Agyei told the Ghana News Agency in an interview in Accra.

He urged the Party's Leadership and supporters to be vigilant and protect the gains made by the NPP Administration over the past four years adding that hard work and perseverance would ensure that it won the elections.

Mr Owusu-Agyei said the Party needed the support of all its members for total victory. "Elections 2004 is for NPP, therefore, you should not allow internal politicking to divide our ranks."

He said rumour mongering was a major drawback to the Party's progress and a problem, which had become a cancer growing deep into its rank and file.

Mr Owusu-Agyei urged the Party's supporters not to engage in acts that might disrupt the elections saying: "Without tolerance, the forthcoming elections will be marred by violent confrontations between parties and ruin this crucial national exercise".

On the campaign in the Effutu Constituency, he expressed concern about the language used and threats issued by politicians, saying these could seriously undermine efforts at attracting investment.

Mr Owusu-Agyei urged voters to ignore sugarcoated words of politicians, who would make promises to influence them to vote for their parties.
