In a significant move to empower the youth with essential technology skills, Interglobal Partners Limited has donated GHC 50,000 to the ILF Technology Literacy Initiative.
This donation, part of the company’s ongoing commitment to youth empowerment and skill development, will enhance the initiative’s flagship projects: the Hello World Bootcamp and the Careers of the Future Workshop.
Interglobal Partners Limited, a wholly Ghanaian-owned company specializing in water and wastewater treatment, civil engineering, and petroleum services, demonstrated their belief in technology as a key driver of the future.
Speaking on behalf of the company, Mr. Robert B. highlighted the need to equip young people with skills for tomorrow’s digital world. “Since the pandemic hit, technology and remote working came to the rescue,” Mr. Robert said. “This tells us that we must take technology skills development seriously.”
The ILF Technology Literacy Initiative aims to equip young people in Ghana with vital coding and tech skills. The Hello World Bootcamp introduces participants to programming and helps them write their first lines of code, while the Careers of the Future Workshop brings industry professionals, mentors, and volunteers into Senior High Schools to inspire students to explore fields such as software development, artificial intelligence, and machine learning.
During the donation ceremony, Mr. Siegfried Sorkpor, lead volunteer for the ILF Technology Literacy Initiative, expressed gratitude to Interglobal Partners. “Technology is the driving force of the future, and those equipped with the right skills will rule that future. That is why we have put together this initiative to bridge the current knowledge gap in the sector,” Mr. Sorkpor remarked. He reassured the public that the funds will be used to maximize the initiative’s reach, focusing on underserved communities and empowering Ghanaian youth to succeed in a technology-driven world.
Interglobal Partners Limited’s generous support not only bolsters the ILF Technology Literacy Initiative but also sets an example for other corporate entities to invest in the future of Ghana’s youth. As technology reshapes industries globally, initiatives like this are vital to prepare the next generation for leadership in the digital era.
The ILF Technology Literacy Initiative will begin rolling out its programs in selected Senior High Schools later this year, with volunteers, mentors, and industry experts leading the charge to foster a tech-savvy workforce for Ghana’s future.
