The opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin North in the Central Region has vowed to resist attempts by the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) to intimidate members of the party during November general elections.

According to him, any plans of intimation by NDC supporters will not succeed.

He called on party members to be vigilant after voting on the elections day to prevent the NDC from rigging the polls.

He alleged that the Ghana Armed Force (GAF) has deliberately selected NDC members for the newly formed elections taskforce.

He made this known when he addressed supporters of NPP at Asokwa, a suburb of Kumasi over the weekend.

‘After voting in either November 7, or December 7 don’t go home, stay behind and watch activities that will unfold, even if you have to sacrifice by fasting do so, the Military Police led by their Chief of Staff Adazi has selected NDC members to form elections taskforce, they have planned to intimidate voters who will hang around after voting. Bet you the military will even forget how they were trained, will we run if military personnel attempt to kill a larger crowd like this, there is no way the military will shoot all of us, Layi lala.

The Electoral Commission (EC) has planned to distribute ballot papers to NDC supporters. Monitor people who will be wearing long sleeves they could be hiding ballot papers, check their hands and the flap of their trousers, we will not give them the chance, we need your help to win the elections, it will be of great benefits to you to sacrifice for the party,’ he said.
