Mr. Rawlings who has come under a barrage of attacks over comments revealing circumstances that led to the disgraceful defeat of the NDC at the polls, has been dared to prove he himself is pious and not corrupt by some leading members of the party.

“Jerry John Rawlings also have to give accounts as former head of state. …He took people monies from them. Whom did he account to? ….he is the first person to give accounts if he is calling for probity and accountability”

“He has no moral rights at all in calling for accountability unless he also give accounts of monies he received from former Nigerian Head of State Sanni Abacha” Alhaji Sani added.

Mr Rawlings during the commemoration of the 38th Anniversary of his infamous June 4 uprising said he disagrees with assertions by former President John Dramani Mahama that a “lame horse” was the cause of the party’s defeat.

“Nobody is saying don’t make money, make it good and clean; but not some of the ones I know; sickening, that kind of greed and selfishness, look at where it landed us. Or is it because this government is not behaving the way Kufuor did in his time, so we think we are okay? I know what’s going on. I know some of the things they are running into,” he added.
