'Irate NPP supporters trooping to Nana Addo's house risky'

A Political strategist at the University of Ghana, Dr. Kobby Mensah has strongly condemned agitating supporters of the New Patriotic Party, (NPP) who continue to besiege the residence of the party’s flagbearer to seek redress to their concerns.

Scores of NPP supporters from the Krowor constituency Tuesday morning besieged the Nima residence of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo over claims that some party executives are manipulating their upcoming constituency elections to favour certain candidates.

They threatened to boycott elections in the constituency if candidates are imposed on them.

Nana Addo later met the aggrieved supporters behind closed doors.

This isn’t the first time party supporters have besieged the flagbearer’s residence.

Just recently, many of them thronged his residence when the party announced some new policies for upcoming parliamentary primaries.

But Dr. Mensah has condemned the posturing of the NPP supporters.

According to Dr. Mensah, the action by the party supporters clearly shows that they lack respect for party structures in resolving their concerns.

In an interview on Starr Today Tuesday, Dr. Mensah said aggrieved party supporters always trooping to the flagbearer’s residence to voice their concerns is a dangerous phenomenon which must be addressed immediately.
