Ghanaian socialite Deborah Owusu-Bonsu, popularly known as Sister Derby, has questioned netizens who are pleading for leniency for Archbishop Salifu Amoako in light of the recent accident involving his son, which resulted in the deaths of two young girls.

In a post on X shared on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, the "Sweet Ex" singer pointed out that Salifu Amoako had previously spoken ill of the Ghana Police Service in a viral video, arguing that he does not deserve mercy.

Her stance comes in reaction to a viral video where the Archbishop was seen bragging about driving without a driver's license, claiming that no police officer dares to stop him.

In the said video, Salifu Amoako was seen emphasising that anyone who attempts to pull him over for driving without a license or number plate risks losing their job.

But in response to calls for leniency, Sister Derby has taken to X to share her thoughts.

"Is this the same guy some of you want leniency for? #salifuamoako What he said in this video is not a good look for @GhPoliceService, right? He sold you out... Yawa."

Meanwhile, some Ghanaians, including actress Nana Ama McBrown and Rev. Obofour of Anointed Palace Chapel, have asked that the Archbishop's case be tempered with mercy.

This comes after he and his wife were granted bail following their arrest for allowing their underage son to drive, a situation that resulted in the tragic deaths of two individuals.
