Godwin Edudzi Tamakloe, the Director of Legal Affairs for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has slammed the government for misusing the funds of the country to the tune of $58 Million for the National Cathedral.
During a panel discussion on TV3’s NewDay monitored by MyNewsGH.com, Edudzi Tamakloe berated the government over it’s poor performance and misuse of public funds.
This comments from Edudzi Tamakloe was in reaction to the recent Afrobarometer report that a huge number of Ghanaians are worried about the unemployment rate in the country.
While making reference to the money wasted by the government in constructing the National Cathedral, the NDC lawyer opined that the money wasted on that particular project would have been able to create jobs for the people of Ghana.
“For four years, the NPP was putting 58 million dollars in a bottomless hole. Today that hole is the most useless thing ever done”, he said angrily.
Edudzi Tamakloe questioned the Vice President, Dr Bawumia why he refused to tell the people of Ghana why their government invested a whopping $58 million in a “hole” when he met with the youth to outline his plans to create jobs on November 3, 2024.
“That $58 million you invested in digging a hole as a Cathedral, did the NPP know the number of jobs it can create for the people of Ghana? You used $58 millions to dig a hole, are you mad? Are you crazy? It is the height of madness to use 58 million dollars to dig a hole. Will Akufo-Addo use his hard earned money to dig a hole? The pain in the heart of Ghanaians will not permit us to romanticize these issues. ” Edudzi Tamakloe tackled government.
