Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide newspaper, Abdul-Malik Kweku Baako, has described as “useless” and “complete rubbish” the confession by Daniel Asiedu, the prime suspect standing trial for the murder of Abuakwa North MP, J.B. Danquah-Adu, that he was contracted by people within the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) to kill the lawmaker, who was a member of the same party.

Speaking on Good Morning Ghana on Accra-based Metro TV on Thursday, 21 June 2018, Mr Baako said the confession of Mr Aseidu, also known as ‘Sexy Dondon’ was “very useless” must be “subjected to verification” and “thrown into the dustbin”.

On Wednesday, 20 June 2018, Mr Aseidu told the court he was hired by some people in the NPP to kill the lawmaker.

He told the District Court presided over by Her Worship Arit Nsemoh that his "contractors" told him to indict certain persons in the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) instead of the NPP in the event of his arrest.

The late J.B Danquah-Adu was murder at his Shiashie residence on 9 February 2016.

The hitman gained access to the MP’s bedroom by climbing a ladder.

The late MP once served as deputy Minister of Women and Children’s Affairs.
