John Dramani Mahama 2012 fun club has been launched in North London on 29th September 2012. The launch which was attended by hundreds of young people and NDC party sympathisers was inaugurated by Mr. Horace Ankrah, NDC UK/Ireland Branch Chairman.

As early as 9;00am members and admirers of JDM thronged the launch venue at Golders Green in North London. Amidst solidarity music and Ghanaian cuisine, club members resolved to gird their loins to work hard to ensure a 'one touch' victory for John Mahama in the December 2012 elections.

In a moving speech which energized the group, Mr. Horace Ankrah entreated the group to be ambassadors of the JDM 2012 campaign and spread the message to their friends and relatives in Ghana to vote massively for JDM in the upcoming elections on 7th December 2012.

He espoused the attributes of John Mahama to include his affability and humility and emphasised the fact that “he has been tried and tested and his message and persona resonates with the youth as well as having a great understanding and respect for the elders of our society”, he continued “who more do we need if we have JDM who excellently blends the expectations of both the youth and the elders he charged”.

On her part Mrs. Elizabeth Nicol, Deputy High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, encouraged the club members to get into their campaign gear and hit the ground to mobilise support for JDM to make the one-touch victory a reality. Mrs Nicol emphasised the need to “close ranks and to work as one family towards victory”. She praised the organisers of the event and most of all the fun club members who made the event a success.

Mrs Mary Osabutey, NDC UK/Ireland branch women’s organiser was full of praise for members of the fun club for showing so much love and support for the flagbearer. She was optimistic that all the hard work that members had put in place will bear fruit in the December 2012 elections.

Malik Dramani Mahama, Patron of the fun club, thanked the club for the confidence reposed in him and promised to work hard to realise the full objectives of the club. He assured the club members that with “hard work and perseverance victory will be ours in the December elections”
