JJ Not involved in primaries

The Former President and Founder of the National Democratic Congress NDC, His Excellency Flt Lt J. J. Rawlings has noted with concern reports linking him to party parliamentary primaries in several parts of the country.

Of particular concern are false statements being made that he is backing particular candidates and creating unfair advantage for others.

The Former President states that he has not and does not have any intention of imposing parliamentary candidates on the good people of Ghana and wishes to restate his believe and respect for the right of the people to participate in selection of their leaders.

His Excellency wishes to admonish the executives responsible for the selection of candidates to be guided by the principle of the sanctity of the right of choice. The concerns of the grass root supporters must not be treated with contempt.

The Former President wishes to take this opportunity to invite fellow countrymen and women to focus on the issues of the manifesto as it is launched tomorrow. It is a document for liberating the people for a better Ghana.
