Jake Otanka Obetsebi-Lamptey is not dead, reliable sources within Ghana’s biggest opposition party have told ClassFMonline.com.
Rumours about the former New Patriotic Party chairman’s death has been the toast of social media since Wednesday night.
The rumour mill has it that the former Tourism Minister died in South Africa while seeking medical attention.
However, ClassFMonline.com’s sources within the NPP say although Mr Obetsebi-Lamptey is in South Africa, he is fit and well.
A deputy director of communication of the party, Anthony Abayifa Karbo also wrote on his Facebook wall that: "No weapon...Otanka lives on."
Also, prominent NPP member, Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, tweeted that Mr Obetsebi-Lamptey is alive and well, and urged the public to ignore the death rumours.

Former General Secretary, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, popularly known as Sir John has also confirmed on radio that Mr Obetsebi-Lamptey is alive and well.
Mr Obetsebi-Lamptey has been on the quiet since he lost his re-election bid as chairman in April last year.
