Nana Boakye Agyei II, the Chief of Jamdede in the Berekum West Municipality of the Bono Region, has denied any involvement in the sale of lands designated for the Berekum Divisional Police Command.

Some natives of Jamdede, a farming town, have raised concerns about the sale of a 10-acre land allocated by the community for the construction of a police headquarters in the area, alleging the chief’s involvement in the sale of portions of the land.

Estate developers have encroached on parts of the land and have begun constructing unauthorized structures and buildings.

However, addressing a news conference in the town, Nana Agyei II insisted that he had no knowledge of the sale of the land and called for an investigation to bring the perpetrators to book.

The chief expressed concern over the condition of the police personnel posted there, who lack accommodation, thereby hindering their work. He emphasized the importance of providing them with housing and office facilities to enhance their operations.

Nana Agyei II also highlighted the deplorable state of roads in the area and called on the government to improve them to facilitate the movement of people and boost economic activities.
