Jealous Farmer Stabs Pastor

A SELF-STYLED Man of God at Nyinahin in the Ashanti region, who allegedly had an amorous relationship with the wife of a farmer, has been stabbed to death.

The deceased, Pastor Kofi Isaac, 32, was stabbed in the left part of his chest by Kwabena Nkansah, a 62-year-old farmer who caught the pastor with his (farmer’s) wife in a room on the night of Tuesday, September 6.

The old farmer had, for sometime now, been suspecting the young pastor who usually prayed for his family, of having an affair with his 33-year-old wife, Adwoa Asokwa, but he had no proof to that effect.

So after personally seeing the pastor and his wife in a room at that ungodly hour, the angry farmer vented his spleen on the pastor by stabbing him, resulting in his death.

Suspect Nkansah, after committing the act, hired a taxi from his village at Nkwasiatan near Obuasikrom and went to the police station at Nyinahin to report his crime.

The suspect was detained instantly by the police who, after thorough investigations, charged the farmer with the provisional charge of murder and processed him for court.

The Nyinahin District Magistrate Court has since remanded the farmer in prison custody and is expected back in court on September 19, 2011.

A police source told DAILY GUIDE that Mr. Nkansah and his wife, Adwoa, had been married for 14 years with four children.

According to him, the couple lived at a village in Nyinahin called Nkwasiatan near Obuasikrom whilst the self-styled pastor lived in another village which is about a kilometer away.

The pastor usually visited the couple and prayed for them in their home but later on, the farmer became suspicious that something was going on between the pastor and his wife.

Worried about the development, Mr. Nkansah once visited the deceased pastor’s father, Agya Ofori and asked him to warn his son to stop having an affair with his wife.

On that fateful day, September 6, 2011, the pastor went to the village of the farmer and after some discussions, Mr. Nkansah went to bed.

Around 9:30pm, the farmer woke from his sleep only to realize that his wife and the self-styled pastor were not in his house.

This heightened the farmer’s suspicion that indeed the pastor was having an affair with his wife so he took a lantern and walked in the dark to the village of the pastor.

Upon reaching the village around 10pm, Mr. Nkansah saw Pastor Isaac and his wife Adwoa alone in the pastor’s room so he yelled that his suspicions had been confirmed.

The woman, at that moment, took to her heels, leaving the old farmer and the pastor in the room.

And after some verbal exchanges, a struggle ensued between the two men.

In the course of the skirmishes, the farmer allegedly stabbed the pastor in the left part of his chest, so Pastor Isaac began weeping and shouting for help.

Some people rushed to the scene and tried taking the pastor who was bleeding profusely to the hospital but he died on the way.

The farmer, who had left the crime scene, took a taxi cab and rushed to the Nyinahin District Police to report his crime and he was detained.

Later, the police went to the crime scene to retrieve the knife which was used by the suspect to stab the deceased
