The sub-chief of Mankpan Traditional Area Alhaji S.S Gbankulso, who has been banished by the Buipewura, Abdualai Jinapor II, has said no one can intimidate him.

The development is brewing a fresh feud between the two traditional areas – Buipe and Mankpan. There is an old rift between the two over a plot of land.

A committee was created with the Damangowura as chairman to look into the matter to ascertain the rightful owners of the land. However, the committee is yet to present its findings but the Buipewura accused the Sorewura of challenging his authority and directed the people of Buipe to cut ties with the sub-chief.

The Buipewura also directed the Ghana Water Company Limited to disconnect water to the Sorewura's house. His properties worth hundreds of Cedis were seized.

Speaking to the media, Sorewura Alhaji Gbankulso said the Buipewura's action was to gag and intimidate him to submission over his unwavering stance on a land dispute between the two chiefs.

“We will not also sit down for somebody to take your God-given gift from you because of power, so we are prepared,” he said.

“We are not going to do anything but if anyone attempts to come on the land we are prepared for them to kill us.”

He also wants the Buipewura to value his assets on Buipe land and reimburse him.

“The Buipewura is banishing me to go, I don't have any power because he feels he is stronger, but as for my properties, he is aware that I have a compound house of 32 rooms, a washing bay, storey-building almost 90% complete, a store, a barbering saloon so if he wants me to go he should pay me," Gbankulso demanded.
