Jocelyn Dumas delivers Commonwealth speech on behalf of Queen Elizabeth II

Her Majesty the Queen and Head of Commonwealth, Queen Elizabeth II, has asked all member countries to collaborate and protect natural resources in order for all individuals particularly women, children, youth and the marginalized communities to share the fruit of progress, development, and prosperity.

In a speech read on her behalf by Actress and Commonwealth Goodwill Ambassador, Jocelyn Dumas, The royal matriarch added, member countries should also consider the well-being of communities living in remote circumstances and make good decisions that favor them.

“Let’s awakens the desire to employ our planet’s natural resources with greater care. Countries of all member states should devise a way of working together to achieve prosperity while protecting our planet and humans,” she stated.

“Throughout my life, I have had the opportunity to see and hear how membership of the Commonwealth family means so much to those living in other parts of the world, particularly remote areas. Wherever we live, our choices and actions affect the well-being of people and communities living far away and in very different circumstances,” her statement read.

The Queen, therefore, urged countries belonging to the Commonwealth to strengthen their collaboration and partnerships in order to positively change the lives of people living in the member states.

However, the Commonwealth is made up of 53 countries from five continents with about 2.5 billion population.

It has provided a veritable platform for diverse groups which includes the world’s largest and smallest, as well as richest and poorest countries with over two billion citizens of all faiths and ethnicities spanning five continents to work together at many levels.
