Former Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Nana Oye Lithur, has hit the streets over the weekend to campaign for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) ahead of the Ayawaso West Wuogon upcoming by-election.

The lawyer was joined by celebrated actor John Dumelo, former deputy high commissioner to Canada, Abi Adatsi and Benedicta Naa Lamptey.

The group went house-to-house to campaign for the NDC’s candidate Delali Kwasi Brempong ahead of the by-election.

In a Twitter post, Nana Oye Lithur shared some photos of their street campaign, adding that she’s confident about the NDC securing the Ayawaso West Wuogon.

“I am on the streets and the homes with John Dumelo, Abi Adatsi and Benedicta Naa Lamptey, as we campaign for the Ayawaso West Wuogon upcoming by-election. NDC: #FromVictoryUnntoVictory,” she wrote.

The Ayawaso West Wuogon seat has been without a Member of Parliament (MP) since the demise of Emmanuel Kyeremateng Agyarko.

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) died last November while on admission in the UK after battling a long-time illness.

Wife of the deceased, Madam Lydia Alhassan, has since been given the nod to stand as the NPP’s candidate for the by-election.

She will, therefore, compete against the NDC’s Delali Kwasi Brempong in the upcoming by-election.

The Electoral Commission set January 31, 2019 for the Ayawaso West-Wuogon by-election.
