Former President John Dramani Mahama over the weekend joined family and friends of Lt. Col. Gbevlo Lartey (Rtd.) to mourn the latter’s late father.
The former president was accompanied by some leading members of the NDC which included Chairman, Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo and Deputy General Secretary, Peter Boamah Otokunor.
Other members of the party were also in attendance to pay their last respects.
“I was in Likpe Mate near Hohoe today to mourn with my brother and colleague Lt. Col. Gbevlo Lartey (Rtd.) and his siblings who buried their late father today. May his soul rest in peace,” the former president posted on his facebook page.
Lt. Col. Gbevlo Lartey (Rtd.) is a former National Security Coordinator.
In 2016, then Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Dr. Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma, appointed him as her Special Representative in charge of Counter Terrorism Cooperation and Director of African Centre for the Study and Research on Terrorism (ACSRT) in Algeria, a position he still holds.
