The Member of Parliament for Jomoro, Wing Commander (retired) Francis Kabenlah Anaman, has presented 100 bags of cement and a cash of 2,400 Ghana Cedis, towards the construction of a kindergarten block in the town.
The project, costing 30,000 Ghana Cedis, is being funded from the MPs share of the Common Fund.
Currently, the children at the kindergarten, are housed in an old one constructed with local materials.
The MP said the construction of the new kindergarten building was to fulfill his campaign promise to the people.
According to him, the project has delayed, due to the late arrival of the Common Fund.
He urged the residents to support the project with communal labour, to reduce its cost.
The Jomoro District Education Director, Mr Peter Blay Ackah Quayson, asked parents to send their children to school for them to become responsible future adults.
Enrolling the children in KG will reciprocate the huge investment being made into the project by government, he said.
Mr Sylvester Daddieh, DCE for the area, urged the youth to participate in social activities that will enhance their future development.
The chief of Enzemitianu, Nana Erzoah Kaku Kpanyinli, who received the cement and money, thanked the MP for the project.
The DCE later inaugurated a five-member committee to lead and supervise the construction of the project.
