The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate in the Jomoro Constituency of the Western Region, Madam Dorcas Affo-Toffey has donated food items to Muslim Communities in the area to climax this year's Ramadan.
The items she donated include; 105 bags of 50kg rice and 105 boxes of frytol oil for onward distribution to all the 39 Zongo Communities in the Municipality.
The Muslim Communities include the following; Half Assini, Jaway Wharf, Adusuazo, Nuba, Mpataba, Kabenlasuazo, Bonyere, Samenye, Tikobo No.1, New Ankasa, Elubo among others.
The NDC Parliamentary Candidate made a similar donation last year during the holy month of Ramadan where she donated bags of sugar and items for ablution.
Ramadan, which is the holy month for the Islamic community will be climaxed on Sunday, May 24, 2020.
Making the presentation amid Coronavirus pandemic at Half Assini, Madam Dorcas Affo-Toffey called on the Muslims to pray for unity and peaceful elections.
She also urged them to use the period to pray earnestly against the deadly Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) to vanish in the country and the whole world.
She reiterated that, "Ramadam is a period our Muslim brothers and sisters use to seek Allah's forgiveness, purification and sanctification and we ask for Allah's blessings and guidance to enable our Muslim brothers and sisters endure the challenges associated with the period of fasting".
She seized the opportunity to pledge her continuous support to the people in the community.
"Giving is very important and if you give you get a lot of blessings and I will continue to donate food items to our Muslims to get blessings", he emphasized.
She wished the Muslims happy Ramadan and called on Allah to protect them.
On his part, the Jomoro Municipal Chief Imam, Alhaji Mohammed Suleiman thanked the NDC Parliamentary Candidate for her generosity and prayed to Allah for protection and realization of her future aspirations.
