Jorbies Holdings gives to three charities

Jorbies Holdings Limited has presented cheques and food items worth GH¢10,000.00 to three charity organizations in support of their work for the underprivileged and the needy in society.

The donations were given out to the charities as part of Jorbies Holdings yearly donation which is part of its Corporate Social Responsibility activities and it will cater for the needs of the various charity homes that benefited from the institution by way of reaching out to the society.

Mr. Jordan Larbie, Chief Executive Officer of Jorbies Holdings and the General Manager of Jorbies Holdings, Nana Serwaah Nhyiraba, briefing the media before presenting the cheques said the beneficially charity homes include Country Side Orphanage Home, Good Sheppard Home and Royal Seed Home all in the Central Region.

Jorbies Holdings Limited which is a business firm made up of five different companies, including Microfinance, Real Estate, Transportation & Logistics, Petroleum & Gas and Pharmaceutical. According to the CEO, Mr. Larbie, social responsibility was an integral part of the company's business operations as it was aimed at making a positive impact on the lives of the people and the community in which Jorbies Holdings Limited operates.

The company started operations in 2008 with the microfinance section where loans were granted to drivers and petty traders who were in need of financial assistance to start their own businesses.

He said Jorbies Holdings contribution alone would not help to address the myriads of problems facing the charities, but served as an encouragement to other institutions to support the needy. Nana Serwaah Nhyiraba said the company acknowledged that Government alone could not do it and require the support of corporate organizations and individuals to make life a little better for the less privileged.

Presenting the donations, the General Manager, Nana Serwaah Nhyiraba noted that, Jorbies Holdings is very appreciative of the good work being undertaken by the charities, and pledged their continuous support for them as a way of contributing its quota to society.

She, therefore, called on individuals and other organizations to emulate the good example of Jorbies Holdings by extending a helping hand to Charities in the country to help take care of the underprivileged in the society, and help curb social menace.

In addition to these donations, the General Manager of Jorbies Holdings has promised to settle the electricity bill debt owe by the Good Sheppard Orphanage Home. The home owe electricity bill of GH¢1,200.00 and due to that the poor children seeking shelter with the home has being in the darkness for the past 8 months with the little children all staying in total darkness all these while because of management inability to pay the said amount to ECG.

Some of the items donated included 6 bags of rice, 3 curtains of milk, 3 cooking oil, toiletries, 3 bags of sugar, 3 bags of gari, 4 curtains of nestle Milo.

Receiving the items, the Care-taker for the Royal Seed Orphanage Home at Kasoa Ofankoh, Ms. Cynthia Kumah, in the Central Region thanked management and staff of Jorbies Holdings Limited for their heartwarming display of charity and challenged them to carry on with the good work.
