Nana Yaw Mensah Joel, the host of the popular Oyerepa Breakfast Show, has sharply criticised Alan Kyerematen over what he described as a lack of respect toward former President John Agyekum Kufuor.

Speaking passionately during his show, Nana Yaw expressed disappointment in Alan's recent comments and actions.

"Let's not forget how Alan's rise in politics is deeply tied to President Kufuor," Nana Yaw emphasised. "Kufuor's unwavering support for him played a critical role in shaping his political career. To see him speak in a manner that undermines such a monumental figure in our country's history is disheartening."

The remarks were about a recent interview Alan Kyerematen granted on Oyerepa FM, during which he appeared to express dissatisfaction with what he perceived as neglect by Kufuor, particularly in the context of the former president's endorsement of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia's presidential candidacy.

Nana Yaw pointed out that Kufuor's endorsement of Bawumia had drawn backlash from some quarters, but it presented an opportunity for Alan to publicly support the former president, given Kufuor's longstanding contributions to the NPP.

"This was Alan's chance to stand with Kufuor when others were attacking him," Nana Yaw noted. "But instead, he chose to criticise him.

"It seems Alan felt overlooked in favour of Bawumia, forgetting that Kufuor has been a cornerstone of the NPP long before Bawumia entered the political scene."

"The broadcaster also revisited Alan's controversial departure from the NPP earlier this year, stating that despite the bitterness surrounding his exit, no one in the party publicly denigrated him. Even after Alan left, people still respected him.

"There were no personal attacks against him. It was as if everyone was just waiting for him to realise his mistake and come back," Nana Yaw said.

According to Nana Yaw, Alan's subsequent return to the political fold could have been an opportunity for reconciliation and a renewed sense of unity. However, he believes Alan's recent actions have damaged the goodwill and respect he once enjoyed within the party.
