Ghana's ancient capital, Cape Coast was set agog Saturday afternoon, as heavyweights from all walks of life stormed there for the grand durbar to climax the 60th Anniversary celebration of the
Fetu Afahye Festival, and the 25th Anniversary of Osabarima Dr. Nana Kwesi Arthur II as Oguaamanhene.
The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II was the Special Guest of Honour, and characteristically, the Asantehene made a majestic entry into the durbar grounds on his palanquin, with his paramount chief and Queen mothers present.
As guests filed in, there was a huge roar as scores of people approached the main durbar ground. It turned out to be the Vice President and Flagbearer of the NPP, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
Dr. Bawumia had gotten down from his vehicle and was walking towards the durbar ground, accompanied by a powerful government and party delegation.
The scores of people following the Vice President hoisted NPP flags and other party paraphernalia, as they chanted Dr. Bawumia's name, and many on the ground also turned to catch a glimpse at the Vice President.
As Bawumia arrived, he went round the ground for the necessary courtesies.
Dr. Bawumia was accompanied by his Running Mate, Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh.
