The Black Stars of Ghana have been accused of engaging in black magic, commonly known as 'juju' ahead of their vital second-leg game against Sudan in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Libya.

The team has been accused of planting shreds of onions at the Martyrs of February Stadium during their mandatory training at the venue on the eve of the match.

According to a report by the Sudanese media, the onions were found after the team's training, with images being shared online.

Ghana Football Association communications member, Sheikh Tophic Sienu, in a reply to a post about the incident, denied the allegation.

"The person who posted these pictures is a Sudanese journalist. And suddenly Ghanaians are flying it everywhere. What is even the justification that it was done by Ghanaians?" he wrote on X.

The Black Stars face Sudan in a must-win contest in Libya as they risk not qualifying for the tournament should they fail to beat Sudan.

The crucial encounter is scheduled for a 13:00 GMT kickoff time.
