Ace broadcaster Kwasi Kyei Darkwah (KKD) has asked Ghanaians to pray for him, as well as his alleged rape victim Ewuraffe Orleans Thompson.
In a statement issued by himself on Tuesday January 13, 2015 soon after the 19-year-old woman wrote to the Attorney General expressing her desire to discontinue the case, the 49-year-old father of two said: “pray for us.”
The CEO of the Finest Productions has been in the custody of the Airport Police Command since December 27, 2014.
He was arrested at the African Regent Hotel at the Airport Residential area following a complaint filed at the Police station by Ms Effe Orleans Thompson.
The two spent time together at the hotel on the fateful night during a fashion show. While the young lady insisted that KKD raped her, the fashion icon also stuck to his grounds that the sex between them was “consensual”.
He was denied bail a couple of times by the Human Rights High Court as well as a District Magistrate Court. He was rushed to the Police Hospital while in the custody of police after his feet got swollen.
In his short statement to the media after the withdrawal of the case, KKD pleaded “with all in the media to spare Ewuraffe and our respective families any further agonies.”
