Counsel for Kwasi Kyei Darkwah (KKD) have said they are surprised 19-year-old Awuraffe Orleans Thompson – who filed a case of rape against the ace broadcaster – was not the initial complainant in the same case.
In a motion filed by KKD’s Lawyers at the Human Rights Court towards securing bail for him, his Lawyers observed that: “…Surprisingly the person who the prosecution claims to have been raped was not the initial complainant in this matter, but a male companion, even though she is an adult.”
The state prosecutor in the case has argued that KKD forcibly had sex with the teenager while the two spent time at a suite in the African Regent Hotel on December 27, 2014.
The alleged rape took place in the bathroom of a suite at the hotel as the young lady – at the behest of KKD – was helping the 49-year-old father of two make himself up ahead of his appearance at a fashion show at the hotel.
StarrFMonline.com has gathered through its investigations that the duo had sex in two different positions while in the bathroom as their respective cousins also fraternised in the same hotel suite.
KKD’s Lawyers say they are at a loss as to why neither of the cousins of their client nor of the alleged victim heard any noises of Miss Thompson’s struggle in protest to the sexual intercourse, if indeed she was raped.
KKD will remain in the custody of the Airport Police Command until his next court appearance on January 8, 2015. Meanwhile the motion filed his Lawyers is expected to be heard at the higher Court , a day before his reappearance.
