KMA boss calls on residents to support his development agenda

Kumasi, July 7, GNA- Mr. Samuel Sarpong, Kumasi Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE), has entreated residents to give the assembly the necessary support to facilitate the development of the metropolis. He said the fundamental principle of any nation's development depended on what the citizenry could do to augment the socio-economic programmes and policies of the government, noting that the time had come for residents to be law-abiding and patriotic to help the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) to realize its objectives.

Mr. Sarpong was interacting with the Council of Zongo Chiefs and Ulamas at the Ashanti Regional Central Mosque in Kumasi. Mr. Sarpong who was accompanied by Nana Kofi Senya, Presiding Member of the assembly, used the occasion to highlight the vision of the KMA, which he said was aimed at accelerating the sustainable development of Kumasi.

He was emphatic that the assembly would ensure a fair distribution of its resources to all communities and promised that under no circumstances would the KMA politicize its programmes. The MCE commended the Council for its continuous support for the assembly and urged members to pray fervently for the KMA in order to achieve its determination to restore Kumasi its status as the Garden City of West Africa.

Chief Ahmed Ibrahim, Chairman of the Council, praised the MCE for the interaction and pledged the support of members to enable the assembly in the discharge of its duties.
