KNUST TEIN gets new executives

Kumasi, March 20, GNA - Newly elected executive members of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) branch of the Tertiary Educational Institution Network (TEIN) of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) under the chairmanship of Mr Moses Armah was sworn into office for a year's term at a ceremony in Kumasi at the weekend.

The new executives replaced the immediate past one, whose term of office ended last year.

The other members are Mr Mustapha Azungah, vice-chairman, Mr Justice Kutsienyo, secretary, Mr Pius Kwame Nkuah, organiser, Mr Awudu Faruk, treasurer and Mr Elias Oppong, propaganda secretary. In an address, Mr Anthony Gingong, National Co-ordinator of TEIN, reminded the leadership of youth wings of the NDC to always pursue profitable ventures for an accelerated growth of the party. "You should do away with arrogance, backbiting, divisiveness, internal wrangling and unhealthy practices that can thwart the party's efforts to come back to power", he noted. He entreated the new executives to put in place vibrant measures to increase the party's membership.

Alhaji Hamidu Mohammed, Oforikrom constituency chairman of the NDC, cautioned well-meaning supporters to desist from defecting from the party when they do not win elections.

He called on supporters to avoid being opportunistic but endeavour to seek the overall interest of the party in spite of their individual differences.

Mr Armah gave the assurance that the new executives would co-operate with stakeholders in the party in whatever they do.
