KNUST TESCON of NPP congratulates President Kufuor on his victory

Kumasi, Dec.13, GNA - The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) branch of the Tertiary Students Confederacy (TESCON) of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) on Monday congratulated President John Agyekum Kufuor on his re-election as President of Ghana in the December 7 elections.

A statement signed by Mr Owusu Adjabeng, President of KNUST TESCON, NPP, in Kumasi, said the victory of President Kufuor was a clear demonstration of the confidence and trust Ghanaians had in his government to bring about accelerated growth after resuscitating the economy and undertaking massive infrastructure development.

It said: "We further extend our heart felt thanks to all Ghanaians and also applaud their profound sense of maturity in democracy that was brought to bear before, during and after the elections".

The statement said the development had confirmed the fact that Ghana was a star and a beacon of democracy in Africa adding that the people should therefore be proud that democracy had come to stay.

The group said it envisaged that the NPP's slogan, "Positive Change Chapter Two", would be translated into concrete terms to ensure accelerate growth and encouraged all Ghanaians to put their shoulders to the wheel of progress in order to help in the advancement of Ghana. The statement reminded Ghanaians of the saying "united we stand, divided we fall", and urged the people to bury their political differences and work together in the spirit of harmony.
