KNUST sign MOU with Air Force

Accra, Feb. 16, GNA - The Ghana Air Force on Thursday signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) to consolidate their collaboration in the training of aeronautical staff for the former. The MOU specifically covered the areas staff exchange for seminars and lectures, donation of books, provision of air exposure and tuition-free practical training by the Ghana Air Force to KNUST students as well as the institution of Ghana Air Force day at KNUST among other things.

Mr William Ofori-Boafo, Deputy Minister of Defence, who signed on behalf of the Ghana Air Force, noted that the signing of the MOU marked the beginning of efforts to upgrade the School of Trade Training of the Ghana Air Force into a reputable Aeronautical Training Institute. He said the school already offered courses for staff of Ghana International Airways (GIA), Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) and United Aviation Services (UAS), adding that with proper management it could provide quality training for an even wider market beyond the boundaries of Ghana.

The Deputy Minister said the school had similar arrangements with other institutions of academia, including the Legon Centre for International Affairs and Ghana Institute of Management and public Administration (GIMPA) for master's programme, certificate and post-graduate diploma in public administration, respectively.
