Police in the Ashanti Region says they’re still conducting forensic investigations into the gun theft that occurred at the Kumasi Academy Senior High School(KUMACA) notwithstanding the missing guns found.
The weapons that went missing from the storeroom of Kumasi Academy Senior High school (KUMACA) have mysteriously reappeared.
Four (4) persons had been picked up earlier by the police after a pump action gun and two shotguns belonging to School went missing last week.
ACP Kwaku Buah, the Manhyia Divisional Commander confirmed to the media that the guns have now been found beside a toilet facility which is no longer in use, but noted further investigations ought to be carried out to know who might have moved the guns from its original place.
“We’re going to do a scientific investigation here. You know you can’t commit a crime, leave the crime scene without leaving a trace. So what we are going to do is that we’re going to do the elimination of fingerprints and see who might have picked them from the store and kept them where we found them.”
The guns went missing after the Storekeeper left the storeroom in the care of a carpenter and other workers.
It is, however, unclear why the school is keeping weapons.
KUMACA recently made the headlines over the outbreak of Influenza H1N1 there which claimed at least four lives in December 2017.
