Former Convention People’s Party (CPP) youth leader James Kwabena Bomfeh, popularly known as Kabila, has petitioned parliament on the conduct of Assin Central Member of Parliament Kennedy Agyapong.

According to him, the MP’s utterances on recent actions by pro-government vigilante group Delta Force, spurring them to engage in unwarranted attacks on innocent persons, are unparliamentary, reprehensible, and undignified.

Although Mr Agyapong has rescinded his decision to support the group in mounting pressure on government to provide them with jobs as promised them during the campaign period, Mr Bomfeh wants parliament to call the Assin Central legislator to order.

Speaking to Class News, Mr Bomfeh said: “Parliament is a house that is in charge of its own rules and based on the petition that I have brought before them, the Speaker will consider it and look at the most appropriate platform to listen into this matter.

“If it has to be a committee or it’s a standing committee or an ad hoc committee to be set up, the most important thing is that I feel his conduct constitutes an affront to the image and dignity of the house and it is important that the house undertake an exercise to purge itself of the danger that the comments and conduct of this honourable member seek to drag the house into.”

Mr Agyapong is an outspoken lawmaker whose remarks on radio and television have over the years often been condemned and described as unparliamentary.
