Kade MP presents computers to Akyem Takyimang Schools

Mr Ofosu Asamoah, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Kade, on Wednesday presented 10 laptop computers to Akyem Takyimang Presbyterian Junior High School (JHS).

At the same ceremony, Mr Asamoah presented a desktop computer complete with its accessories to the Catholic JHS.

The MP had earlier made similar donations of desktops to the Methodist and Presbyterian schools of the town.

Mr Asamoah assured the Catholic and Methodist schools that very soon they would also have their supply of laptops.

He expressed the hope that by using the computers the pupils would be equipped with the skills that would facilitate their education and make them Information and Communication Technology (ICT) literate, since in the computer age ignorance of ICT was a great handicap.

Mr Asamoah said he was expecting 20 laptops, 10 each of which would be given to the Catholic and Methodist schools.

He announced his plans to establish an ICT Centre equipped with internet facilities in the town.

The headmaster of the Presbyterian JHS, Mr Afari Alexander, and Mr Amanor Samuel of the Catholic JHS, both thanked the MP for the gesture and promised to take good care of the items describing them as essential tools for teaching and learning.

The Chairman of the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA), Mr Stephen Owusu Yeboah, commended the MP for the gesture and asked the beneficiary schools to take the study of ICT and other subjects seriously to be able to excel in their final examinations.
