The Kaleo Traditional Council in the Upper West Region has endorsed President John Dramani Mahama for another four year term as President.

The council said the president has already been endorsed and chosen by God and therefore called on the political parties not to engage in politics of lies, intimidation but peace. The council said this when the Vice President Kwesi Amissah-Arthur paid a courtesy call at Kaleo in Upper West Region.

He took a swipe at the NPP’s manifesto pledges such as the one village one dam, describing it as one size fit all whether the villages need it or not.

Since 1993, the Nadowli-Kaleo parliamentary seat has remained an NDC seat and occupied by the Majority Leader in Parliament, Alban Bagbin. The visit by the Vice President was to shore up more vote for President Mahama and Mr. Bagbin.

The chief of Gyilli, Naa Badienaang Sanyellah, who spoke for the council was grateful to government for providing the community with its fair share of projects.

He called on traditional authorities to lead in the campaign for a peaceful election.

Vice President Kwesi Amissah-Arthur said peace, security and stability are key to development. It is for this reason that the NDC as a development oriented party has no choice than to continue to drum home the need for peace at all times.

The Vice President spoke about the competence of Mr. Bagbin and urged the people to return him to parliament to work with President Mahama for more development. He said the people of Nadowli-Kaleo must realise that they have a gem in the person of Mr. Bagbin, describing him as a valuable member of the NDC.

The Kaleo Traditional Council honoured the Vice President with a specially woven smock.
