The family of the ten-year-old boy who was murdered in Kasoa has expressed satisfaction with the verdict of the court.

Speaking in an interview with GH One TV after the ruling, a relative of the deceased, Harrison Mensah, said the punishment meted out to the accused persons should serve as a deterrent for anyone contemplating unlawful actions.

"The family is satisfied even though we have lost our son. This should serve as a deterrent to any other person who wants to take the law into their hands. It was not easy; we were waiting for judgment," he stated.

He said the case took a toll on the family.

"Because of this issue, my brother has lost the job that he was doing. He is in debt of over GH₵180,000, and we don't know where he is going to find the money to pay off the debt.Once judgement has come, we will go back and strategise and see how we will pay off those debts," he noted.

On Thursday, October 24, 2024, a seven-member jury unanimously found the two teenagers charged for the 2021 murder of a 10-year-old boy at Kasoa for money ritual guilty.
