Ken Agyapong: I will resign from NPP if I'm punished

Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin North and a financier to the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has threatened to resign from the NPP if any attempt is made to haul him before the party’s disciplinary committee.

“NPP should dare me I am prepared to issue my resignation letter to the Speaker of Parliament and I will give them a show down,” he said.

He reiterated his stance on the party’s national executive describing them as bunch of failures and entreated delegates to vote them out of office.

The outspoken Politician further promised to allocate 20 million US dollars to campaign against executives he described as “corrupt national executives” not win power.

Sounding bitter, Mr. Agyapong called the bluff of his national chairman Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey for describing him as a runaway man after pouring out his resentment in the media.

Speaking on a private radio station, Mr. Agyapong advised his colleagues within the party to refrain from attempting to stop him anytime he blurs out “corrupt” practices in the New Patriotic Party.

“When I wake up in the morning to receive distress calls from my creditors from China for the purchase of those motorbikes, who among the party members bears this fate,” he stressed.

He, however, added that the New Patriotic Party can win the upcoming elections only if the party changes its national executive.
