It appears all is not well with Kennedy Agyapong’s Kencity media as the pro-New Patriotic Party (NPP) media empire is struggling for survival despite the fact the party it labored for is in government.

Journalists especially crew members of NET 2 Television as well as Oman FM as a result of the situation now resort to the use of public transport to cover events according to Mr. Carlos Kingsley Ahenkorah, Ghana’s Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry.

“The last time I came here something pathetic happened. I met your television crew down there and they told me they were off to the National theatre or is it conference centre to cover an event and wanted a lift. I told them it was a government vehicle I was using so I could not be of help”, he revealed in an interview MyNewsGh.com monitored.

The Deputy Minister wondered why crew members like NET 2 television could be reduced to taking trotro to cover events when the owner of the business is known to have contributed significantly to the fortunes of the party in 2016.

“NET 2 is an NPP station. It has supported NPP all its life. The owner of the station donated 100 pick-ups to the NPP in the run up to the 2016 polls. I felt embarrassed and if I had money that day I would have bought a vehicle for the station. Last month, Kennedy Agyapong himself took his party to the cleaners for being ungrateful to media houses under his Kencity Media Empire despite the sacrifices made by these outlets to the fortunes of the party.

He observed that lately, Oman Fm and NET 2 TV are not even invited to important functions citing instances he has been to such events where some media houses were present without his, MyNewsGh.com reports.

The Assin Central lawmaker was angry that they are also denied advertisement which will help the companies run in order to enable them continue to provide the needed services that inure to the benefit of the NPP.

“Wow, what an ungratefulness. When you talk they say your boss is rich…even the ocean it still rains inside. Give them adverts to run their company. Even if you go to programmes…a lot of programmes I have attended I notice NET 2 is not always invited. We have already been living our lives before now. They will go round and still return to us”, he disclosed on Oman FM monitored by MyNewsGh.com.
