Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta delivered a heart-warming message of condolence on the floor of the House to the family of late Captain Adam Mahama.
The finance Minister is known for his usual white apparel during public gatherings, however he appeared before Parliament today wearing black and red.
Explaining the rationale behind it he noted that, his attire was in memory of his deceased cousin and late captain Adam Mahama
“I lost my cousin Micheal Ofori-Atta and during the week I visited the family of late Major Mahama Adams, it’s unfortunate for the righteous to perish but we pray to God that they have been speared the evil in our society” he warmly remarked
The Finance Minister was in parliament to respond to a motion filed by Minority Leader Haruna Iddrisu on the $2.25 billion bond issued in April by government of Ghana.
The late Captain Mahama was post humously promoted to the promotion of Major by President Akufo-Addo who also donated GHC50,000 to the family.
Captain Mahama was gruesomely lynched to death by residents of Denkyira Obuasi in the Upper Denkyira West district of the Central Region
The residents according to reports mistook him for an armed robber after he was spotted with a side gun.
So far 42 people have been arrested in connection with the tragic incident.
The president has assured the family of late Major Mahama that the relevant institutions will work to unravel the mysterious murder and prosecute those found guilty
