Former Minister of Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta, has made a public appearance, putting to rest recent rumours suggesting that he was in critical condition or had passed away.

The former minister, now serving as President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s Senior Advisor on the economy, was seen attending the Induction Service of the new Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church of Ghana, Most Rev. Prof. J. Kwabena Asamoah-Gyadu, at the Wesley Cathedral in Accra on Saturday, October 12, 2024.

Videos and photos from the event were shared by Samuel Koku Anyidoho, former Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), and Kow Essuman, Counsel to President Akufo-Addo.

The visuals clearly showed Ofori-Atta among the attendees.

In a video shared by Anyidoho, Ken Ofori-Atta was seen walking in the cathedral. Anyidoho captioned it: “Ei, people can really wish people dead paaa oooo!!! They say Ken Ofori-Atta is virtually dying and flown out of Ghana but I just saw him with my own eyes at the Induction Service of the new Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church at Wesley Cathedral, Accra. God forgive us our sins.”

Kow Essuman also posted a picture of Ofori-Atta dressed in traditional kente cloth at the event, adding: “Ken Ofori-Atta, in his beautiful kente cloth, is currently at the induction of the Most Reverend Prof. J. Kwabena Asamoah-Gyadu, the 6th Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church Ghana, at the Wesley Cathedral in Accra. The wicked lies must stop! Congratulations Presiding!”
