EXPERIENCE
Dr Kennedy is the former CEO of Family Health Centers Inc, South Carolina. Kennedy supervised up to 250 employees with offices across four counties (2001 to 2007). Until his resignation and departure for Ghana Kennedy also served as a member, Board of Directors, Diabetes Initiative of South Carolina as governor’s nominee (2005-2007). Kennedy was a member of the Board of Directors, Orangeburg County Chamber of Commerce (2005-2007); Member Clemson University NIH Grant Advisory Board (2005-2007), Member, Wisconsin Medical Society Peer Review Board and President of National Union of Ghana Students (1983-1985)
THE PARTY MAN
Kennedy is a true NPP man. He began as a Popular Front Party Activist in Old Tafo, Kumasi in 1979. Kennedy stood tall to the PNDC when in 1982 he would confront the PNDC on excesses of the curfew and suffering of ordinary people. As President of Commonwealth Hall, Kennedy led protest against murder of judges and the retired army officer and was consequently dismissed and re-admitted under pressure from students in 1982. As President of NUGS (1983-1984), Kennedy led protests for a return to constitutional government. As former NUGS President and guest speaker at NUGS celebration, Kennedy condemned military regimes and was consequently exiled to Ivory Coast and then Canada. Kennedy has since participated in the struggle to return Ghana to elective government through speeches, articles for newspapers and many more.
In 1996 Kennedy was chairman of fund-raiser for then candidate JA Kufuor in Chicago and has since made financial contributions to the NPP at both regional and national levels. Kennedy was thus honored by NPP in Chicago for outstanding contributions in 1998. From 1998 to 2000 Kennedy was part of the North American six (6) who helped to fund the NPP with regular contributions.
As a politician, administrator and a professional, Kennedy believes Planning is key to running a government. Kennedy always put planning ahead to confront issues before they occur. Kennedy, though believes in prayers is an ardent believer of action and planning ahead to confront the issues practically as they come.
