Kingdom Equip Network holds Eklessia roundtable series 2018

Kingdom Equip Network, a coalition of individuals and organizations seeking to promote good governance within and among churches has held their annual Ekklesia Roundtable Series 2018 themed ‘Transitions and Successions in the Ghanaian Church’, at the Academy of Arts and Sciences, Accra.

The event, which was held on the 23rd November 2018 was organized to offer a one-stop view of the transition and succession policies of denominations in Ghana, identify and address the key factors militating against smooth transitions, among others. The roundtable discussion brought together the clergy and other members of the society.

In her address as chairperson, Former Chief Justice, Her Ladyship Mrs. Georgina Theodora Wood advised the clergy to look up to Jesus way of choosing leaders to succeed him. She added that since it is the triune God who chooses, his role should not be undermined or taken lightly in the various churches.

She expressed excitement at the initiative by Kingdom Equip Networking in organizing such an event.

The speakers included immediate past Chairman of the Church of Pentecost; Apostle Opoku Onyinah, immediate past Methodist Presiding Bishop; Rev Aboagye-Mensah, Bishop Gordon Kisseih; founder and general overseer of the Life International Church (formerly Miracle Life Gospel Church) and Rev Dr. Emmanuel Ansah; convener for the Kingdom Equip Network and Senior Associate Pastor, Covenant Family Community Church.

Case studies were delivered by some churches, with strong succession stories like the Catholic church, for others to take a cue from.

The Ekklesia Roundtable Series (ERS) is a Kingdom Equip Network (KEN) Ghana initiative organized annually since 2017. The series brings together clergy, the academia; Media, the public and experts in specific fields to build consensus on policy initiatives that enhance the governance of churches and the nation.
