The ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) has appointed Kofi Adams as the campaign coordinator for the 2016 elections, Starrfmonline.com understands.
Mr. Adams, who is the national organiser of the NDC, will be the arrow head of the main campaign team between the presidency and the party going into the seventh poll of the Fourth Republic.
According to inside sources, Mr. Adams was appointed a fortnight ago, but the National Executive arm of the party gave him the green light a few days ago.
Mr. Adams will be central to the operations and success of the party’s campaign, supervising fundraising if possible, as well as field activities. He is also expected to manage public communications of the party and ensure all campaign activities around the president comply with the party’s regulations.
Sources say the NDC will be unveiling the full campaign team soon as the party kicks off its campaign for the 2016 general elections later this month.
President John Mahama is eyeing a second term while his main contender Nana Akufo-Addo of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) is hoping to annex the presidency in his third attempt.
