Kofi Adams was a ‘disaster’ – NDC guru

A Cadre and Communications Team member of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Agbesi Notsu has described National Organizer of the party, Kofi Adams as a ‘disaster’ who contributed hugely to the NDC’s shameful defeat in the 2016 elections.

According to him, Kofi Adams did a terrible job as the Campaign Coordinator which set the party on track for defeat in the polls, that the NDC was confident of winning as they deemed it a done deal.

The NDC lost the 2016 elections miserably to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) led by the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

Akufo-Addo beat the incumbent John Mahama with over a million votes to win the presidency with the NPP also having almost an absolute majority in Parliament after snatching several seats from the NDC.

Even as the Prof. Kwasi Botchway Committee investigating what led to the party’s shameful defeat continues with its work, members of the NDC have in the past few days traded accusations against each other.

Speaking to Kasapa News, Agbesi Notsu stated that the choice of Kofi Adams as the Campaign Coordinator effectively marked the beggining of the NDC’s defeat.

“Kofi Adams failed completely, he was a disaster. This defeat should be blamed on Kofi Adams. In 2008, Ofosu Ampofo was the National Organizer, was he the Campaign Coordinator? in 2012, Yaw Boateng Gyan was he the Campaign Coordinator? so why didn’t we continue the precedence, why on earth was Kofi Adams the incumbent National Organizer made the Campaign Coordinator of the 2016 elections. The man himself is a disaster and you top it up with the position of a Campaign Coordinator, what good do you expect from him.

He added: “A lot of things happened in our campaign which were wrong. We had a whole National Director of Election moving with the Vice President’s campaign team, why was it so? the Deputy Director of Election was a Parliamentary hopeful in the North so who was controlling the Election Directorate of the NDC.”
